Hyper acidity in ayurveda
Amlapitta is the Ayurvedic term for hyperacidity. One of the most prevalent illnesses that affect people of all ages is “amlapitta.” An imbalance between the stomach’s and proximal intestine’s acid-secreting system and the safety-promoting mechanism is referred to as hyper acidity. Acid that is necessary for digestion is typically secreted by the stomach. Acidity is the result of the stomach producing too much acid. In ayurvedic way it is the imbalance of both pitta dosha and digestive fire.
Causes of acidity
• Eating spicy dishes and curries, such as pizzas, burgers, noodles, and samosas
• Overly sour and salty meals, such as chips and manufactured junk food with masala, etc.
• Overuse of spices such as garlic, chilli powder, mustard, garam masala, and more
• Consuming excessive amounts of pickles, fast food, deep-fried fatty meals, etc.
• excessive consumption of acidic tea and coffee
• Dehydration or drinking very little water
• Meal timing irregularities
• Food that is stale, chilled, or reheated
• Eating extremely late at night and skipping meals, particularly breakfast
• Eating foods with opposing qualities in accordance with Ayurveda
• Eating breads, white flour, fermented meals, or acidic foods
• A sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise, high levels of stress, and anxiety
• Not getting enough sleep or falling asleep right after eating
Ayurvedic remedies to treat acidity
• Eat amla, which has the ability to soothe the digestive tract and lessen the formation of
excess acid. It is also high in vitamin C.
• Adding triphala powder to your regimen lowers the pitta doshas and detoxifies the stomach.
• In the morning, drink an herbal tea made with ajwain, mint, and lemon to rapidly reduce indigestion and acidity. helps constipation and gas as well.
• Include wheat, old rice, green gram and cucumber in food
• Take pomegranate juice, lemon juice, amla juice, sweet lime juice, water boiled with coriander seeds or puffed rice
• Don’t lay down or go to bed right away after eating; instead, take a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk.
• Get enough sleep every day.
• Eat at the same time every day and adhere to a perfect Dinacharya.
• Every day, engage in yoga poses and pranayama to guarantee that acid production is properly managed.

• Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and aspirin.
• Avoid fried and junk food.
Herbal remedies
Shatavari: three grams twice day with milk
Three grams twice a day with milk is Yashtimadhu.
Three grams of amalaki (Indian gooseberry) taken twice daily with water
Take 1–3 grams of sunthi (dry ginger) twice daily with water.
Home remedies
Take 1 teaspoon of ghee with warm milk
Drink 1 glass of coconut water twice daily
Chewing half table spoon fennel seed after food
Drink white pumpkin juice twice daily
Yogasanas for acidity
When performed shortly after eating, Vajrasana improves digestion and reduces the risk of acid reflux, making it the ideal yoga posture for treating acidity.
Pawanmuktasana : By strengthening the digestive fire, this position reduces gas, bloating, and acidity.
Bhujangasana: This position lowers acidity, enhances digestion, and stimulates the abdominal organs.
Halasana: It strengthens the muscles in the abdomen and lessens acid reflux and other acidity problems.
