HEALTHY RECIPES

1) Kitchhdi for indigestion
Ingredients:
● Soaked green gram – ½ cup
● Soaked lentils – ½ cup
● Broken rice – 1 cup
● Turmeric – 1 pinch
● Rocksalt – as req
Preparation : Put all the ingredients into 2 cups of water and put over flame till the rice and pulses are cooked.
2) Herbal chutney for Memory
Ingredients :
● Grated coconut – 1 cup
● Mint leaves – 5 leaves
● Peanut – 1 spoon
● Ginger – garlic – 1 tsp
● Mandukaparni – Centella asiatica – 10-12 leaves
● Salt – as needed
● Green chilli (as required) – 1 or 2
Blend all the ingredients and make a smooth paste form with adequate water and use it with your breakfast dish like dosa, idli or with bread.

3) Smoothie for Acidity
Ingredients :
● Oats
● Milk
● Banana
● Apple
● Fig
● Honey
Dry roast the oats and then keep it to cool down. Then blend all the other ingredients and have it. It helps to reduce the acidity

4) Pasta for Anaemia
Ingredients :
● Spinach(green leafy vegetables)
● Broccoli
● Green peas
● Green beans
● Potato
● Sunflower oil
● Pasta
● Coconut milk
Boil the water and then add a few drops of oil and salt and then add pasta. Once it gets cooked , drain the water and keep tha pasta aside. Make the veggie mix masala by sauteing all other ingredients in a pan with sunflower oil , 3 pinch turmeric powder , 1 tsp chilli powder and once it gets well sauted, mix the pasta and coconut milk and cook for 5 mins. This is a very good recipe you can have for breakfast or dinner.

5) Drink for Hypertension
Ingredients :
● Moringa leaves
● Tender guava leaves
● Beetroot juice – 3- tbsp
● Sarpa gandha – Rauwolfia serpentina
● Ashwagandha – Withania Somnifera
Make herbal infusion . Boiled water is added to the above dry herbs and then allowed to steep it for 10- 20 mnts. Then add beet juice (optional for taste). Strain it and have it as a drink.
6) Cholesterol/ Diabetes reducing pan cake
Ingredients :
● Millet powder – 2 cups
● Asparagus.
● Broccoli.
● Cauliflower.
● Green beans.
● Lettuce.
Make the batter by mixing millet powder with adequate water. The consistency should be neither too loose nor too thick. Put 2-3 pinch salt and add raw vegetables that cut to small pieces or can saute it and then add to batter. Stir it well. Once the pan get heated , pour the batter and spread and cover with a lid. Pan cake ready within 3 mnts.

7) Nutritious drink for Children/ adults
Ingredients :
● Badam – 4
● Cashew nut – 5
● Pista – 1 tbsp
● Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 1 tbsp
● Liquorice – 1 tsp
● Cocoa powder – 1 tbsp
Dry roast all the above ingredients and then make fine powder using a blender. Take the powder and mix with warm milk with adequate sugar and give to children. This is a highly nourishing, strengthening, immunizer and memory booster for all.

8) Food for Pregnant ladies
Ingredients :
● Milk – 500ml
● Navara rice – 1 cup
● Ghee – 1 or 2 tbsp
● Bala decoction (boil 30gm bala root in 1ltr water & reduce to 650ml) –
Cook the navara rice by adding bala decoction and water . Once it is half cooked , then add milk and cook till it becomes soft. After that add ghee and serve it. This is one of the most nourishing recipes for pregnant ladies. This helps improve their bone flexibility, reduces cramps, pain in the body and eases the labour.

9) Soup for Respiratory issues, cough, cold etc
Ingredients :
Ingredients:
Soaked dal (lentil) – 1 cup ( Mustard seeds, dried red chilli,
Tomato – 4 medium size garlic, coriander leaves)
Tamarind juice – as req
Turmeric – 1 pinch
Pepper – 1 tsp
Salt – as req
Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
Preparation : Cook the lentils first and let it cool down. Next cook tomatoes and then peel off its skin. Once it is cooled, blend it with cooked lentils. And then start the soup preparation. Add the above puree in a vessel and keep it on medium flame ,then add tamarind juice to it. Check the sourness and limit its addition. Once it starts boiling then add turmeric, pepper, salt and asafetida. Boil it for 5-10 mnts. And at last add crackled mustard seeds with oil, dried red chilli, crushed garlic and at last some coriander leaves.

10) Pudding for Arthritic Complaints.
Ingredients :
● Milk – 2 cups
● Sugar – ½ cup
● Cornstarch – 3 tbsp
● Salt – ¼ tsp
● Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
● Butter – 1 tbsp
● Fruits – avocados, grapes, cherries,peaches,plums,pineapples, mango,papaya
Keep the milk in medium flame till it gets boiling bubbles at sides. Then add the mixture of cornstarch, sugar , and salt which is already mixed aside. Then stir it till it gets a thick like consistency. Then put off the flame and remove the pan from the stove and keep it to cool down. After that add fruits, vanilla extract and butter. It should not be freezing cold for vata patients.
